Evaluation: Cooling
Here you tell BIM Energy if your building has any active cooling or passive cooling.
Passive cooling means that no mechanical cooling measures are used to achieve the cooling, e.g., by opening a window and thus airing away the heat. For the room temperature not to exceed the highest room temperature, the building must be cooled and that is why it still is reported a figure for Cooling in the energy balance.
If district cooling is selected, the amount of energy used for the cooling of thermal energy as well as the energy used when condensing moisture is calculated in order not to exceed the maximum permissible level of relative humidity in the room air.
To use a cooling machine, a cooling factor is specified for two different operating points at two different outdoor temperatures. The outdoor temperature for operating point 2 should be higher than for operating point 1. Between these points, the cooling factor is interpolated and the closest outside point’s cooling factor is used outside the points. The calculation considers energy released when condensing moisture in order not to exceed the maximum permissible level of relative humidity in the room air.
